Self-Ligating Braces
With traditional braces, your orthodontist uses elastics or ligatures to connect the wire into the brackets. SmartClip SL3 self-ligating braces (a 3M product) use a simple clip door that locks the wire into the bracket slot. The special, customized self-ligating brackets are computer designed using a unique nickel-titanium metal alloy giving you a beautiful smile with more comfort.

With the self-ligating braces, color ties are not needed. SmartClip SL3 self-ligating braces are very comfortable and without the color ties, there is less food and plaque accumulating around the brackets. Also, with SmartClip SL3 braces, the appointments are shorter as well since there are no color ties to change.
